Lou & Dede is a capsule wardrobe brand that began as a dream between my mum and I, now brought to life for my final year Visual Communications project. Inspired by our shared love of fashion and the belief that less is more, Lou & Dede offers timeless, versatile pieces for young professional women aged 22 to 30. This brand is designed for every part of life, from the office to weekends, dinners, and beyond. The project responds to the issue of overconsumption in the fashion industry, where women often feel pressured to constantly buy new pieces influenced by trends and social media. Lou & Dede shifts this mindset by encouraging thoughtful investment in fewer, high-quality items that can be restyled and cherished for years to come. Through this project I strengthened my skills in branding, editorial design, photography direction, and web design, while shaping a design philosophy built on simplicity and purpose. I also styled and directed a photoshoot showing how one timeless piece, the oversized black blazer, can move seamlessly through different moments in a woman’s life. Lou & Dede reflects my belief that fashion should simplify, not complicate, and that intentional design can empower women to feel effortlessly put together.
