Deco Lane

During my internship at Superette, I was challenged to design a contemporary collection for Superette International Ponsonby with the theme of American Heritage. I chose to draw on the 1920s, transforming flapper-era elements such as feather trims, dropped waists, and knee-length silhouettes into modern designs. This exploration became my collection, Deco Lane.

Created for the modern muse, Deco Lane reimagines the elegance of the Jazz Age with a contemporary edge. Each garment carries meticulous craftsmanship—47 hours of hand-beaded embroidery, whisper-soft silks, delicate lace, and airy feathers. High necklines and streamlined silhouettes nod to timeless sophistication while embracing today’s minimalist sensibilities. Designed to move with ease and confidence, the collection bridges heritage beauty with modern luxury.

This was also my first time focusing on dressmaking, which pushed me to master fabric dyeing and work with delicate textiles I had never used before. The process deepened my technical skills and strengthened my design philosophy: blending history with modernity while empowering individuality.

Ultimately, Deco Lane reflects my passion for craftsmanship and my commitment to creating garments that feel both memorable and enduring.
