As a visual artist I aim to create work which elicits curiosity in the viewer and through spending time with the work they may learn something.
As an individual I aim to create works which are complex and keep me occupied.
The Antique Aesthetic series brings together six distinct historical art styles, reimagined as dioramas in the present day. Each work incorporates the techniques and materials of its era, offering a view into the artistry of the time, as well as the cultural and societal context.
Working in miniature has been a challenge but one that has helped me connect with the practice that my mother and late grandmother were involved in as founding members of The Garden City Miniaturists group.
I plan for the series to grow as I continue to dive into art history in the years to come.
