Stories on the Stairs

A good story is a good story, no matter who tells it.

Stories on the Stairs is an art exhibition centred around cross-generational friendships. The intention being to break down the stigmas often carried in unexamined bias and encourage these relationships within our community.

Cross-generational friendships are something dear to my heart. Throughout my life these connections have brought a different type of joy to my life sharing of wisdom, stories of the past and different world views. This source of connection is something that doesn’t take too much effort but can bring so much joy.

Stories on the Stairs has been guided with the proverb:

Mā te tuakana ka tōtika te teina,

mā te teina ka tōtika te tuakana.

The older sister corrects the younger sister,

The younger sister corrects the older sister.

Take time, find the unexpected. Because the best friendships are the ones you didn’t see coming.
