Motion Design

Lilly Luu

My final project focuses on illustration and visual storytelling, presented as an educational cookbook created specifically for teenagers. The project explores how design can be used as an engaging learning tool, helping young audiences to build confidence, independence, and curiosity in the kitchen. It also aims to promote awareness of healthy eating, sustainability, and the joy of making food from scratch, encouraging teens to see cooking as both a creative and life-enriching skill.

By combining illustrated narratives, accessible recipes, and thoughtful visual design, the cookbook transforms the cooking process into a story-driven experience. Each recipe is paired with playful characters, short stories, and visual cues that make learning easier and more enjoyable. The visual style draws inspiration from contemporary illustrated books and graphic novels, blending warmth, humor, and clarity to communicate both information and emotion effectively.

Throughout my studies, I have developed skills in illustration, animation, layout, and narrative design. This project integrates those areas into one cohesive outcome, reflecting my interest in how storytelling and design can inspire creativity, learning, and everyday confidence in young people.
