Modern music streaming has made listening easier than ever, but at a cost. Music discovery is now driven by algorithms, turning exploration into passive consumption. Listeners receive endless suggestions but have little opportunity to explore music themselves.
Disco is my response. It is a music discovery app that reframes how we explore sound in the digital age. Instead of serving ultra-targeted recommendations, Disco gives listeners tools to create, connect, and play. At its core are discs; interactive, customisable playlists evocative of CDs, which can be shared and linked into constellations to form visual maps of connections. Curiosity guides discovery, whether by following a friend’s constellation, remixing a disc, or tracing unexpected pathways between genres.
