My final project is a series of conceptual photographs called This is how we fall in love. Social media can distort relationship expectations with unrealistic ideals that impact self-esteem and lead to body dysmorphia. When we are naked we are physically and emotionally exposed within a relationship. We completely trust that person and are open to exploring intimacy and affection for them. However, the idealistic and impractical illusions that are presented in social media can lead to insecurity and an inability to fully be at ease with another person. My images show loneliness and isolation; echoing shifting emotions as they move between trust and doubt, security and vulnerability assurance and anxiety.
