Since the start of last year, I knew that at some point I wanted to design my own board game, so for my final project I’ve done just that. A board game comes with many different components using different materials, which I felt would be an excellent challenge for me to overcome. My goal for the game is to get people learning how to grow their own food so that they can alleviate the pressures of the weekly food bill.
Abundance is a collaborative tile-placing board game that is looking to educate low-income households on the benefits of home gardening and how to do it. Players will need to efficiently manage their space as they plant vegetables into their garden beds. But watch out for the nasty pests that are looking to munch the vegetables before they can be harvested! Players use tools such as seaweed fertilizer to ward off creepy crawlies from their crops.
